Refugee Week Film Festival 2012
Local film makers are invited to contribute short films to be part of Maribyrnong’s Refugee Week Film Festival to be held at the Sun Theatre on Monday June 18.
Refugee Week takes place nationally in June and provides opportunities to promote harmony and togetherness as well as to celebrate the contributions refugees make to our community.
This year’s film festival will launch Maribyrnong’s Refugee Week calendar of events with a feature film and a selection of short local films. Films are a powerful way to share stories and help raise understanding in the broader community. They can be a compelling reminder that regardless of our differences, we all share a common humanity.
If you would like to contribute a film that highlights aspects of the refugee experience we would like to hear from you. Films will be selected by a panel of Maribyrnong’s Refugee Week Organising Committee. Submissions must be in DVD format and should ideally be classified and ready for public viewing.
All entries must be received by Friday 18th May, 2012.
Films can be delivered to:
Maribyrnong City Council Offices (crn Napier and Hyde Streets, Footscray)
or posted to:
Refugee Week Film Festival,
Maribyrnong City Council,
PO Box 58, Footscray VIC 3011
